The White Stripes veröffentlichten Seven Nation Army auf ihrem 2003 Album Elephant. Jack White sagte, als Kind hätte er die Heilsarmee (Salvation Army) stets als Seven Nation Army bezeichnet.
Der gesamte Song ist von einem Gitarrenriff unterlegt, das an eine Bassgitarre erinnert. Jack White spielt seine hollow-body electric Gitarre mit einem Digitech Whammy.
Seven Nation Army ist zurzeit wohl der berühmteste Song mit einem instrumentalen Refrain. Er wird oft in Sportstadion gespielt. Beispielsweise singen die Fans der italienischen Nationalmanschaft bei den Spielen der Squadra Azzurra.
